Special Programs

Included in your child`s weekly tuition we provide weekly language and music instruction in each of our classrooms - from infants through Pre-K.  We believe that both are intergral to the full educational experience and want to provide the very best for our children.  It is proven that the young child`s mind is best suited to learning multiple languages and that music is an incredible tool that enhances brain development.

Our Spanish language instructor, Señora Fabiana, has been a language teacher of adults and children for several years, teaching Spanish, Portuguese and English as a Second Language. Her teaching philosophy is inspired from her love for languages, teaching languages to her son, and essentially, from the principles of the Communicative Approach in Second Language Acquisition.

The Spanish program at Kids `R` Kids offers a rich curriculum tailored specifically to a young child`s ability to learn through play and music.  Children learn the language through interactive games, puppets, singing and role-playing.  These activities are fun for the children while also stimulating their cognitive development.  For more information on private language instruction, please contact Fabiana Hayden at fabianahayden@gmail.com or (937) 623-2473.

Recently, we have expanded our language program to include Chinese.  Our Chinese language instructor, Song Qi, is a teacher at the Athens Chinese School, a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization affiliated with the Chinese Student Union (CSU) at the University of Georgia. Its purpose is to promote Chinesel language education and help the young  appreciate the Chinese culture.

We are excited to have Amanda Martin, MT-BC, who is the owner of Music Therapy Services of Athens, with us as our weekly classroom music instructor.    At MTSA, Ms. Scott serves a variety of populations ranging from early infancy, developmental disabilities, to geriatric students.  Since completing an internship with children K-12 with emotional and behavioral disorders, Amanda has directed Oconee Street United Methodist Church childrens choir, worked individually with piano students, and completed certification training to teach the international early childhood music and movement program, Music Together (r).  For more information on the benefits of Music Therapy, please visit the American Music Therapy Association website www.musictherapy.org and/or contact Amanda directly at georgiamusictherapy@hotmail.com
